Introducing Internet Colony Management (ICM™)
October 1, 2012 - ICM™ is a revolutionary, custom-designed software solution for both project and vivarium management. It allows us to capture many more data points on your animals efficiently and accurately through the use of an RFID isolator/cage location tracking system and a workflow management package. ICM™ is designed to streamline animal technician workloads while capturing data electronically on each animal through the use of tablet computers and a simple, numerical keypad interface. This data is instantly made available to our project management staff and our clients through the two-way client portal.
Through the ICM™ portal, you can see real-time activity on every animal in your colonies and export that data to Microsoft Excel® at any time for further manipulation. Animal and project requests can also be made directly through ICM™. You can request animals to be mated, shipped, grouped, etc. by simply selecting the animal(s) and choosing an action. There are also extensive sorting and filtering abilities in the ICM™ customer portal, allowing you to quickly find information on a particular subset of your colonies. Any request you make in ICM™ comes right to your project manager’s dashboard for approval and is then sent to the animal care technician to be carried out. This step helps ensure that our customers and our project management staff are on the same page with the goals of your project.
In addition to the colony management possibilities, ICM™ also provides you with all of the project information, such as current and past goals, extensive details on each line in the colonies, health reports, shipment history (both to and from Charles River) and a complete record of any tasks you have requested. With ICM™, all of your animal and project information is just a mouse click away.
